During the shooting phase of this story, I did all of the interviewing myself. Anchor Wendy Bell wrote the story beautifully, and gave me plenty of room to be as creative as I could be in editing. I maximized the use of “nat” sound and peppered the story with conversational sound bites. The story was nominated for a 2014 Mid-Atlantic Emmy for “Outstanding Feature News Report.”
